The HOP Tribute Garden
We are still deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and co-owner of the HOP, Jan Abbott. Jan was an extraordinary man who excelled in so many fields: bowling, bridge, dance, tennis, and pickleball just to name a few. But his greatest passion was pickleball. So many of us in the HOP community are forever grateful to Jan for sharing that passion and introducing us to the game. Jan will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The HOP Tribute Garden was designed to honor Jan’s memory and legacy. After months of planning and much work, the garden was officially opened Saturday, July 27, 2024. We remain grateful to the groups and individuals who donated to this tribute to Jan. You have helped us celebrate Jan and keep his spirit alive!

Tribute Garden Bricks
In February 2024 the HOP Memorial Fund was established to fund, build, and maintain projects to honor those House of Pickleball (HOP) members, family, and friends who have died. Our initial efforts were focused on building a tribute to Jan Abbott, one of the HOP’s founding visionaries, and on the development of the HOP Tribute Garden. The Garden was established to offer a beautiful area to reflect, remember, and relax.
The Fund has undertaken a project to offer engraved bricks within the Garden for donors to create a lasting commemorative message. This could be expressed as a memorial, tribute, acknowledgement, appreciation, or favorite expression. While creating a tribute brick you will also be supporting the continued maintenance and improvements of the Garden and memorials.

Memorial Brick

Reflection Brick
